This is yet another example of a politician whose moral compass is screwed-up by parochial party end-points instead of the bigger national interests. And it is doubly sad because it’s the youth in the party whom we expect to rise above the petty endgame of their leaders and instead be a beacon of hope for the future of the nation. [1]
The sabotage of the Selangor and STFC blueprint of action against COVID has virtually always been due to the hostility of the federal government.
The classic example being the withholding of COVID national data to the state governments, researchers and academics until this very day. How on earth do you expect Selangor to wage a war against the virus when you ask them to enter the battlefield with their hands and feet tied and their eyes closed – this is both cruel and absolute insanity.
The data & figures depicted in the above diagram do not lie. When SELangkah was actively used in Selangor between May-August 2020, the cases in the state was minimal (red line). With their intelligent and automated SELangkah App, Selangor was able to rapidly Find, Test, Trace, Isolate and Support (FTTIS) the infected and affected during their period of isolation.
The success story of SELangkah Contact-Tracing was cut short, because on 18 Aug 2020, and subsequently 2 Sept 2020, two major policy changes took place. [2]

- MySejahtera was made mandatory by the government (PN) and the National Security Council (NSC). Individuals and businesses were compounded if they continued to display SELangkah alongside the new MySejahtera. This effectively stopped the usage of SELangkah. [3]
- The patient location data that was previously shared with the State Governments, was stopped.
The stoppage of both visitor logs & patient location data meant that Selangor lost its Contact-Tracing ecosystem. And from Sept 2020 onwards, the de facto Contact-Tracing ecosystem in Selangor was MySejahtera.
And since mid-October 2020, the cases in Selangor has spiked mercilessly (see the red line in the above diagram). And this, Dr Gan Kang Kai, is due to the gross failure of the MySejahtera Contact-Tracing ecosystem.
Your PN colleague the Minister of Health admitted to this miserable performance of the KKM and MOSTI’s MySejahtera. [4]. Their Contact-Tracing was reduced to manual labour. Can you imagine the Health Inspector frantically telephoning 400-600 close contacts? Compare and contrast this with the SELangkah Contact-Tracing ecosystem which is built on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The whole world, Selangor and the STFC has embraced the IR4.0. I am afraid you and your colleagues in government are trapped in a Jurassic time warp.
The government (PN), the MOH and the National Security Council (NSC) is now paying dearly for disabling and sabotaging the SELangkah Contact-Tracing ecosystem. And you have the audacity to point the fingers to the Selangor state government and the STFC.
And I am sure you were witness to the shameful performance of MySejahtera during the AstraZeneca vaccine opt-in fiasco. Need I say more? [5]
I think it’s a total waste of precious time to deliberate on the other issues he has raised. If you read carefully his statements on lockdown, he is obviously contradicting himself. It is very reminiscent of the brain fog of those suffering from the after effects of Long COVID.
